FAQ0016 What happens if an excess ripple higher than the rated ripple is applied to the product?

Answer

The excessive ripple current applied causes abnormal heat generation, which significantly raises the internal temperature of the capacitor and may lead to the following cases.
1. The capacitance of the capacitor decreases.
2. Electrolyte leakage due to activated pressure relief.
3. Short or open mode due to capacitor breakdown.
