Progress in technologies for electric cars and autonomous cars has led to the development of in-vehicle ECUs with higher performance. As a result, circuits making up those high-performance ECUs have come to carry larger load currents as more and more ECUs have been incorporated in cars. This latest trend has created demand for smaller boards. Now, to secure enough space for packaging circuit elements on such a small board, capacitors must be compact, be capable of handling a large current, and have a large capacitance.
To provide a capacitor that meets those conditions, Panasonic has released the ZU Series Conductive Polymer Hybrid Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors with features including the ability to handle large currents, a large capacitance, and stable behavior under high temperature.

  1. Large current:Handles a current 1.4 times larger than the current handled by the conventional ZS Series.

    Thanks to Panasonic's unique conductive polymer formation technology and a newly incorporated low-resistance material, the new product has achieved lower ESR and can handle a current 1.4 times larger than the current handled by the conventional ZS Series, thus solving the problem of increasing load current in circuits and saving space on circuit boards.

  2. Large capacitance:Has a large capacitance equal to that of the conventional ZS series.

    As new materials and methods for manufacturing the new product have been introduced to give the product lower ESR and higher heat resistance, the large capacitance of the existing ZS series has been maintained.

  3. High temperature guarantee : The new product is guaranteed to operate normally at 135°C for 4000 hours, remaining stable under a high-temperature environment.

    Based on the heat-resistant function of the conventional ZS series that allows it to operate normally at 125°C for 4000 hours, the heat resistance reliability of the new product has been improved further to guarantee normal operation at 135°C for 4000 hours.
