Angular rate sensors using our original piezoelectric MEMS (Micro-Electro -Mechanical-System) tuning-fork technology have been used for correction for small movements by the operator's hands of DSCs and DVCs as well as automotive applications. In the market, sensors used for correction for small movements by the operator's hands have been required to become smaller and thinner. To meet the market demand, Panasonic Electronic Devices Co., Ltd. has developed the angular rate sensor for consumers, which is smallest in the world and has two-axis in one body-structure (capable of detecting movements in two directions).
