    Former Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. FA Co.

    Production Engineering Research Center created.

    FA Division merged with the Production Engineering Laboratory.

    Achieved waste zero emission.

    MED spun off as Factory Automation Company (MAFC).
