January 18, 2009, Osaka, Japan-Panasonic Electronic Devices Co., Ltd. has succeeded in commercializing the ESD Suppressor with 0201 size suitable for measures for suppressing ESD noise in a high-speed signal line including HDMI (High-definition multimedia interface).

As data transmission capacity between digital home-appliances and personal-computer peripherals has increased, serial interfaces in a GHz-wave band including HDMI, USB 2.0, IEEE 1394 have come into wide use and measures against ESD noise in high-speed signal lines (in a GHz-wave band) have been more important. To meet the market demand, Panasonic Electronic Devices Co., Ltd. has developed the 0201-size ESD suppressor with lowest capacitance value (0.04 pF) in the industry which realizes the excellent transmission quality with low capacitance value. We will add new products to the two existing models with 0402 size and 0603 size to expand the product range, contributing to suppressing ESD noise in high-speed signal lines (such as antenna circuits and modules of mobile phones).
